This isn't my usual choice, more "where local eat" type but gave this a go due to good reviews and glad we did. "Fusion" is always a bit pretentious, but from the 3 dishes we shared, hard to criticise. Prawn salad with croutons is nice but nothing to write home about and all uphill from there. Kangaroo tenderloin (recommended by local who was in eating..thank you sir) was cooked to perfection. Medium rare, seared on outside, marinated in teriyaki, melted in mouth, that was a 10! The pork belly dish with avocado, rice, egg etc was also top marks. Pork tasted like it had been cooking for weeks, fell to bits, mixed well with other ingredients, a favourite of my wife's (Thai) tastes. Place was quiet, as we eat early, clean lines, well designed and full view of cooking area. Staff friendly, helpful, happy to explain dishes to us lazy "English only" speakers! Had all that, couple drinks each, under €50. I definitely recommend a visit.... P.S...locals definitely eat here so I'd book a table 7pm onward...

Nice atmosphere and friendly staff. The food was a more mixed experience. The tuna tartar with seasonal fruit (kiwi in this case) was very good as a starter. Unfortunately my main dish, a sirloin wok, lacked flavour and came off as very blend. A quite big disappointment. My wife was more lucky with her teriyaki prawns wok.

The Hook - A Solid Dining Experience in Las Palmas During my recent visit to The Hook in Las Palmas, I encountered a restaurant that offers a commendable dining experience. The service stood out for its friendliness, leaving a welcoming and warm impression. Despite the unpretentious exterior, the interior revealed a modern setting with an open kitchen. Opting for the goat cheese salad as a starter, I found it to be fresh and tasty, though the dressing could use a slight improvement. Moving on to the main course, the black Angus was a highlight. The meat was excellently grilled, accompanied by flavorful potatoes and coleslaw, making the overall dish worthwhile in terms of both taste and price. In summary, The Hook may not boast a fancy facade, but it delivers a solid dining experience in Las Palmas. With friendly service, a modern ambiance, and a kitchen that produces satisfying dishes, it's a recommended choice for those seeking a reliable meal in the area.

I was there 3 times during my holidays on Gran Canaria and every single time the food was really delicious. I ordered Argentinian antricote, angus steak and mexican burger and I have to recommend all of those meals. The only drawback is that portions are not so big, so if you're really hungry I suggest to order 2 burgers or ask about some extra meat. Highly recommend!

Cool and modern place. The dishes sound intriguing but leaves somewhat to be desired when it comes to the flavor. The drinks are interesting and good.

We arrived around 2pm on a Sunday in January without reservation, we were in Las Palmas for a few hours and had googled where to eat. We were found a bar type table by the toilets which is fine because when you turn up at a popular place without a reservation you’re lucky to get a table at all! The service was professional and the food tasty. The decor is nice! Allergens clearly marked on the Spanish menu (not yet on the english one) the only thing was that I couldn’t find the cocktails on the menus at all (it’s all by QR code) and would have liked to try one, I should have asked the team but they got busy very fast and it definitely wasn’t important as I was enjoying a nice glass of wine.

I recommend it! It feels familiar to me as a Korean, and it's delicious. The restaurant atmosphere was also clean.
